Eira

Private yoga sessions allow for a depth of instruction and the fostering of a strong clean practice not always possible in larger groups. I very much enjoy working at this personal level where my versatile approach can be targeted to meet the specific concerns and goals of one mind/body alone. Having been a professional dancer with Cirque du Soleil for over 15yrs, a healthy relationship with my mind/body has always been a priority. Alongside my dance career yoga has provided new avenues through which I continue to discover training, strengthening, grounding, and healing. I’ve had a range of experiences teaching private yoga: from working with beginners  – eager to try something new – to professional dancers and athletes, to celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis, a lifelong practitioner. Whether you are interested in discovering a practice for the first time or deepening the one you have, I’d be honored to join you along your yoga journey.

 

Availabilities:

  • Weekday: evenings
  • Weekends: all day

Pierre-Vincent

Pierre-Vincent has been practicing and studying yoga (ashtanga and restorative/therapeutic) and meditation for about 10 years. His approach is psycho-corporal and, thus, he works on the physical, mental and emotional bodies. Pierre-Vincent is also a certified shiatsu massage therapist and is now completing a master’s degree in social work. In his teachings, he combines his knowledge of yoga, mindfulness meditation, traditional Chinese medicine and counselling.

The way Pierre-Vincent works is as followed: the first private session is usually used to meet, assess one’s needs and work through shiatsu massage. Then, a program which  meets your discussed personal needs is created and presented at the next session. Periodic follow-ups are subsequently possible according to the agreement or needs. The general idea is to support empowerment and the integration of the practice and its benefits beyond the mat.

 

Availabilities:

  • Monday from 1:30pm – 5pm
  • Wednesday from 9am – 5pm
  • Friday from 10:30am – 5pm

Rachel

Rachel has been teaching yoga since 2009.  She completed her teacher training at Downward Dog Studio in Toronto and has continued her education at a number of studios in Montreal with a long list of workshops and specialty classes.  She has also completed a certification in prenatal yoga.

Rachel finished a university degree in Health Science and before becoming a yoga teacher worked as a circus artist touring throughout North America and Europe with the Montreal based companies Cavalia and Cirque Eloïze.   Being on tour and performing every night can be pretty uprooting.  Practicing yoga always helped to find a sense of stability and balance.

Rachel teaches yoga with a global perspective looking to deepen her students understanding of their own bodies and of the different yoga postures.  She hopes her students will be able to bring what they have learned on the mat out into their everyday lives.

Champa

Champa Cyr-Ratanatray has an approach adapted to the particular needs of its students. She seeks through her teaching of yoga to create harmony between the functioning of the body and the ability to identify the challenges to be overcome at the level of the Spirit. Her yoga sequences are restorative for the mind and energizing for the body. Its purpose is to help the student evolve in his practice and his inherent understanding of yoga. With 550 hours of certification in yoga, Champa draws on her knowledge of both Ashtanga yoga and Restorative yoga, she uses chairs and other accessories available to give a yoga practice that is accessible and safe. Among other specializations, she works a lot with women prenatal and post-natal, she accompanies the woman in all its pregnancy process until after childbirth where she teaches baby massage and the rehabilitation of the body to come back to it’s initial form both physically and mentally. Champa also has a practice and understanding of Vipassana Meditation, she accompanies the student who wants to understand how to calm his mind and take the meaning back to his life. The meditation sessions are taught on an individual and daily basis, it respects the religion or initial values ​​of the student and adds mindfulness and concentration. Champa guides, accompanies and inspires the student to respect each other while stimulating the limits and progression of yoga.

Michael

Methodical and sensitive, Michael’s approach to yogāsana prioritizes individual needs. Emphasizing inner experience to awaken body intelligence, he can help you optimize structural alignment and functional mobility.

Michael’s innovative use of props and ability to recognize the broad effects of even the smallest details helps pinpoint and prioritize the aspects of your practice that will be most helpful for you to focus on — whether your goals are injury care and prevention, pain management, refining and advancing your understanding, or simply gaining deeper insight into your practice.
